Maybe you haven't noticed....I've disappeared from the blogging adventures.
I haven't been training.
The Mud Run is two weeks away.
I've gained weight, my stamina is lowered, my exercise routine has toned down as my body has surely NOT toned up.
How did this happen?
I think it started about a month ago when my dad visited for a week. I took a mini vacation myself, indulging in tons of meals out, bottles of wine with dinner, scaling back on my gym visits. It was for family!
Then he flew back East and I started slowly picking up the pieces.
The problem was, that my bad eating habits stayed with me and didn't fly to South Carolina back with him. Then I came down with a cold, that deteriorated into the worst sinus infection of my life. Then a family vacation to the snow, complete with more bad eating and drinking habits and one very embarassing attempt to learn to ski. I'll give you a hint on that adventure: I never made it off the bunny slope!
Then to further demonstrate my fitness: at the annual family Easter softball game yesterday: my first at bat, I make contact with the ball, start to run two steps, then trip over my own feet and tumble to the dirt. Some training huh!
And here I am today, feeling flabby, unmotivated and worried that I can't do this.
Miracles don't happen in two weeks.
Even my panicky impulse to join Weight Watchers for a two month membership (pre-paid) won't save my booty. But can my booty endure all the mud run obstacles waiting for me on April 22nd?
